The Orioles and Miguel Tejada are reuniting. This time, however, Tejada will play third base instead of shortstop.

Tejada and the Orioles have agreed on a one-year contract, pending a physical, the infielder confirmed yesterday. "I've reached a deal for one season and $6 million. I know it's less than what I made last year, but the market has changed and I feel happy to be able to play in the major leagues," he told The Associated Press in Santo Domingo during a phone interview from Miami.

Tejada, 35, made more than $14 million with the Astros in 2009, the final season of a six-year, $72-million contract he signed with the O's. Tejada played shortstop with the Orioles from 2004-07 before being traded. He hit .313 with 14 home runs and 86 RBIs in 158 games last season.

Cesar Izturis will remain the O's starting shortstop, and Tejada said the move is "like the beginning of a new career, but I'll continue doing my same workout routine to be able to continue my career."

Dodgers: Exhibition games in Taiwan

The Dodgers will travel to Taiwan for a pair of exhibition games March 13-14 against a team from the Chinese Professional Baseball League. The Dodgers' two-game series will not be part of the official spring training schedule. L.A. was the first big-league club to play in Taiwan in 1993. The Dodgers also played the Padres in two spring training games in Beijing in March 2008, the first major league games played in China. - AP
