The 38-year-old Hideki Matsui homered in his second at-bat since being called up by the Rays before Tuesday's 7-2 loss to the White Sox. Matsui went 1-for-4, starting the game in left field and batting sixth.
This is after hitting .170 in 13 minor league games since signing with Tampa Bay.
This is coming from a guy who couldn't find a job when the season started, or several games into it.
