Votto's slam, his 3rd HR of game, lifts Reds
Joey Votto hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning for his third homer of the game, giving the Reds a rain-delayed 9-6 victory over the Nationals Sunday. Votto hit solo shots in his first two at-bats. The 2010 NL MVP hadn't homered since April 30.
The Nationals announced that catcher Wilson Ramos tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Saturday night.
Braves 7, Cardinals 4: Jason Heyward hit a three-run double in the top of the third, helping the Braves beat rookie Lance Lynn (6-1) and complete a three-game sweep. Carlos Beltran homered for the sixth time in six games, his NL-leading 13th.
Dodgers 11, Rockies 5: Bobby Abreu hit a three-run double in a six-run sixth. Matt Kemp, who leads the Dodgers with 12 homers and a .359 average, left with an irritated left hamstring.
Phillies 3, Padres 2: Cole Hamels (5-1) allowed a run in seven innings in his return from a five-game suspension.
Giants 7, Diamondbacks 3: Melky Cabrera hit four singles, extending his hitting streak to 11 games for the visiting Giants.
Cubs 8, Brewers 2: The Cubs ended a 10-game losing streak at Miller Park.
Pirates 3, Astros 2: Josh Harrison's single won it in the bottom of the 12th.
Rangers 13, Angels 6: Nelson Cruz hit a grand slam and Josh Hamilton drove in three runs for host Texas. Jered Weaver (5-1) gave up 10 hits and eight runs in 31/3 innings.
Rays 9, Orioles 8: Elliot Johnson and Ben Zobrist homered as the visiting Rays ended a three-game losing streak.
Tigers 3, Athletics 1: Justin Verlander (4-1) struck out eight in seven innings for his 13th consecutive road win.
Red Sox 12, Indians 1: Jarrod Saltalamacchia homered and drove in five runs at Fenway.
Royals 9, White Sox 1: Jeff Francoeur hit his first homer for the visiting Royals.
Twins 4, Blue Jays 3: Scott Diamond (2-0) threw seven shutout innings in Minneapolis.-- AP
