The Yankees have traded Double-A outfielder Abraham Amonte to the Seattle Mariners in exchange for righthanded pitcher Shawn Kelley, the team announced Wednesday.

In 47 relief appearances with the Mariners last year, Kelley went 2-4 with a 3.25 ERA. He allowed 43 hits, 15 walks and 16 earned runs in 44.1 innings. Kelley also averaged just more than a strikeout per inning with 45 total. In his time with Triple-A Tacoma last season, Kelley made 14 appearances and went 2-0 with six saves and a 0.90 ERA.

The 28-year-old was originally drafted by Seattle in the 13th round of the 2007 amateur draft. He's made several stints in the big leagues dating back to 2009.
