The Yankees have acquired first baseman Travis Ishikawa off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles, the team announced Sunday on Twitter. Kevin Youkilis was transfered to the 60-day disabled list to clear a roster spot.

In just six games with the Orioles this season, Ishikawa went 2-for-17 with one RBI and eight strikeouts. Ishikawa has spent most of the 2013 season with Triple-A Norfolk. In 49 games with the Tides, he hit .316 with seven home runs and 31 RBIs.

Ishikawa was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 21st round in 2002. Over the course of six years at the big league level, Ishikawa is a .260-career hitter with 19 home runs and 111 RBIs.

Last season with the Milwaukee Brewers Ishikawa hit .257 with four home runs and 30 RBIs in 94 games.
