Yankees fall to Red Sox after game called for rain in 6th

The Yankees fell to the Red Sox, 3-0, in a rain-shortened six-inning game Sunday at Yankee Stadium.
The start of the game was delayed because of a threat for rain. They finally got underway 50 minutes after the 8 p.m. scheduled start.
In the sixth inning, the rain finally came. After a 36-minute delay, the teams retook the field, but they didn't last there long. Two quick outs were recorded in the top of the sixth -- about four minutes -- and the grounds crew brought the tarp out for the third time as the rain fell harder.
Hiroki Kuroda, who wasn't at his best, takes the loss for the Yankees. He allowed three runs on eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
The Red Sox first run came on a Mike Napoli fielder's choice, scoring Dustin Pedroia in the fourth inning. Kuroda then let up back-to-back leadoff home runs to Jose Iglesias and David Ortiz in the fifth and sixth innings, respectively.
