- Derek Jeter visited Dr. Robert Anderson, who performed surgery on his left ankle in October, for a scheduled checkup in Charlotte, N.C. Manager Joe Girardi said it went "great" but did not have a date for when Jeter will run full speed on the bases, thought to be the final obstacle before he appears in a game.
- Add lefty reliever Clay Rapada to the list of the injured. Girardi said Rapada has bursitis in his left shoulder and will be down seven to 10 days.
- Phil Hughes threw a short flat-ground session in Tampa, his first since suffering two bulging discs Feb. 18.
- Boone Logan (elbow inflammation) played long-toss.
