Yankees, Mets schedules released

The Yankees open their 2014 schedule deep in the heart of Texas, while the Mets have the Big Apple all to themselves.
The Yankees start their year with a three-game set against the Astros in Houston and the Mets begin against Washington at Citi Field, the just-released 2014 MLB schedules reveal.
The Yankees and Mets play each other from May 12-15, with the first two games at Yankee Stadium.
Yankees highlights:
- The first Red Sox series comes at home from April 10-13.
- The Yankees home opener is April 7-9 against the Orioles
- The National League opponent is the NL Central: the Cubs, Brewers, Pirates, Cardinals and Reds
- The September schedule features 23 games against division rivals, 20 against the Rays, Red Sox and Orioles
Mets highlights:
- The American League opponent is the AL West: the Angels, Athletics, Rangers and Astros
- The season ends with three home games against the Astros
