CC Sabathia not worried about tough Opening Day

BALTIMORE -- Early in his career after a bad outing, like the kind he had on Opening Day, CC Sabathia would have wanted to get back out there right away.
As he's gotten older, the lefthander, who starts Wednesday night's series finale against the Orioles, has gained perspective.
"You want to get back out there but whether it's a good start or a bad start , once I leave the field, I let it go," said Sabathia, who allowed five earned runs in six innings against the Rays on Friday. "Pitching bad against Tampa's not going to help me out here against the Orioles [Wednesday]. I'll go out, try to have my fastball command and throw everything off of that."
Sabathia is 16-2 with 2.74 ERA in 22 career starts vs. the Orioles.
After Monday night's game, Russell Martin got into a shouting match with Orioles infielder Robert Andino, whom he thought was tipping pitch locations from second after doubling off Mariano Rivera.
"Stealing signs has been in baseball a long time," Girardi said. "Calling out people that you think are stealing signs has been in the game a long time, too. It's all part of the merry-go-round . . . it's all part of the game."
Girardi talked to Andy Pettitte after the lefty pitched for high Class A Tampa. "He threw the ball well," Girardi said. "He was pleased and pretty excited about how he threw." Pettitte said his next outing will be Sunday for Tampa.
