Cops: World Series rings, MVP plaques stolen from Yogi Berra museum

Thieves who broke into the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center early Wednesday morning made off with "several" of the Hall of Famer's World Series rings, along with two MVP plaques, authorities said.
Chief Paul M. Cell of the Montclair State Police Department made the announcement Thursday afternoon, adding: "No other items appear to be stolen at this time."
The museum, filled with memorabilia from the 89-year-old's career, is located on the Montclair State University campus in Little Falls, New Jersey.
The Montclair State Police Department is leading the investigation.
The Essex County sheriff's office continues to seek the public's help. Sheriff Armando Fontoura said in a statement Wednesday that its Crimestoppers program is offering "a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects in the case."
Berra, a three-time MVP during his 18 seasons with the Yankees, appeared in 14 World Series with the Bombers, winning 10 of them. His museum opened in December 1998.
