A Johnny Damon reunion with the Yankees was snuffed out even before Andruw Jones was signed, but now talks seem to be intensifying between Damon and the Tampa Bay Rays.
The sides are said to be working on a one-year deal.
Last season, Damon hit .271, with 36 doubles and 81 runs scored in 145 games for Detroit. He vetoed a deal that would have sent him to the Rd Sox, another one of his former teams.
