Do Yanks have enough pitching?
The Yankees have the best record in baseball and lead Tampa Bay by three games in the American League East. Even if they do not win the division, only a major collapse would prevent the Yanks from at least earning the Wild Card.
Having said that, what's the pitching rotation for the playoffs? CC Sabathia certainly, but perhaps a large degree of uncertainlty after that. A healthy Andy Pettitte would follow, but health is not guaranteed. A.J. Burnett has made himself a head case, Phil Hughes' recent performances are a cause for concern. Javier Vazquez is up and down and was not brought here to pitch in playoff games. Sergio Mitre does not fit into this conversation.
Then, there is that eighth inning issue with Joba Chamberlain.
And the Yankees do not think they need more pitching?
