Hot line drive out in second for Jeter
In the top of the second, Jeter neatly handled a double-play grounder.
He got up again in the bottom of the second--again to Sheppard's introduction, as well as a chorus of "Der-ek Je-ter" in the manner of the bleachers' roll call. He ran the count to 3-and-2 (again the plate umpire was booed for a called second strike) and was retired on a wicked liner to first. Matt Curry made a nice dive to snag it.
Jeter handled a groundout to start Altoona's half of the third.
Brian Cashman and Gene Michael are here, sitting behind the plate
