Jeter's calf passes test: a bunt single
This is what Jeter wanted to see: He came up with two on and one out in the fifth and hit a perfect bunt to third base and beat it out. The Thunder said it was his 550th minor league hit. It was big for him, to prove his health.
He went in hard to break up a double play on the subsequent at-bat, and succeeded.
Cleveland, here he comes--you'd have to think, anyway, that he's on his way to rejoining the Yankees for their July 4 game.
