Jeter singles, scores in first for Trenton
Derek Jeter came to the plate in the bottom of the first, leading off for the Trenton Thunder, to the recorded intro from Bob Sheppard.
He worked the count to 2 and 2 against Mike Colla, a 14th-round pick of the Pirates in 2008, (the crowd booed loudly on the second striek call). Jeter then smacked a ground single to left. He's batting 1.000 in Double A. He went easily to third on a double to right by Corban Joseph, whose No. 2 jersey he temporarily appropriated.
He came home without a throw on a sacrifice fly to deep center by Austin Romine
