- Before the game, Phil Hughes, last night’s starting pitcher, was reinstated from the 60-day DL. To make room on the 25-man roster, RHP Lance Pendleton was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Kanekoa Texeira was released
- Catcher Jesus Montero was placed on the disabled list with a stiff back. Montero is hitting .289 with seven homers and 33 RBIs.
