TAMPA, Fla. -- David Robertson doesn't see a problem being ready for Opening Day.

The reliever pitched a scoreless inning Sunday, his first appearance since suffering a bone bruise in his right foot in a fall at his home March 7.

It was only his second game of spring training.

"It felt good," Robertson said of his foot. "I didn't have any problems. I'm really lucky."

Manager Joe Girardi also said he doesn't see a reason why Robertson won't be ready when the Yankees open the season April 6 in St. Petersburg against the Rays.

"I just need to fine-tune my mechanics," Robertson said. "I should be able to do that in three [more] outings."

Getting ready

Derek Jeter, who had been slowed by a stiff left calf, homered in his first at-bat and doubled in his second.

"I feel good," Jeter said. "You want to feel good the last week going into the season. I'm making progress. I'm happy with where I am."

Pettitte steady

Andy Pettitte threw what he called a "light side" session Sunday, comprised of about 20 pitches to a catcher who stood on home plate.

"Made it through another," the lefthander said with a smile as he came into the clubhouse afterward. "Everything still feels good."

Pettitte is expected to throw another live batting practice session early this week. The hope is that he can make his exhibition debut before the team breaks camp.

Extra bases

Alex Rodriguez left the game in the seventh after Brayan Villarreal plunked him in the left rib cage with a mid-90s fastball. Girardi said A-Rod is "fine" and will play Tuesday. The Yankees are off Monday . . . Mariano Rivera allowed his only hit in six exhibition innings -- a double by Delmon Young -- in pitching a scoreless sixth. He has not allowed a run in six appearances. Girardi said Nick Swisher (right groin) could be back by Tuesday . . . Phil Hughes will throw in a minor-league game Monday.
