John Sterling's radio call of Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit likely will be replayed forever, but he said before Thursday night's game that he has not scripted any comments in advance.
"I prefer, like at the end of a World Series, to feel something," he said before Jeter doubled in the first inning for his 2,998th hit. "But I'll do something very quick about what Jeter has accomplished. I'm trying not to think about it in advance -- trying not to."
