The Yankees have signed 15 players to minor-league contracts with an invitation to spring training and invited an additional 10 players to Tampa, the team announced Friday.
Sixty-five players are scheduled to report for the Yankees. Pitchers and catchers report Feb. 18, with the first workout scheduled for the next day. Position players report Feb. 24, with full-squad workouts beginning on Feb. 25.
Jorge Mateo, the team’s No. 1 prospect according to Baseball America, earned an invitation after hitting .278 with 66 runs, 40 RBIs and 82 stolen bases between Class A Charleston and Class A Tampa last season.
Seven of the 25 non-roster invitees originally were drafted by the Yankees, including 2013 first-round pick Aaron Judge and 2015 first-round pick James Kaprielian.
Catcher Kyle Higashioka, pitcher Diego Moreno and catcher Eddy Rodriguez, who were in the organization last season, are among the minor-leaguers to land invitations.
