BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred said, "I hope so," when asked if he expected there to be exhibition games in Cuba next spring, and the Yankees are interested.
But they have plenty of company -- one league official estimated about 15 teams have shown some interest -- and MLB is expected to use some kind of lottery to determine the participants. Of course, even with the two countries re-establishing a diplomatic relationship, there are still obstacles, not the least of which is the U.S. government giving MLB permission to hold games in Cuba.
