Yanks could have designated dilemma

Jorge Posada is off to a 1-for-12 start (.083) in spring training, but that small sample is not predictive. Or is it?
In the larger picture, using Posada as the full-time DH could leave the Yankees lacking as compared with other teams in the American League East.
A breakdown, with 2010 stats:
Yankees: Jorge Posada (.248 avg., 22 HR, 81 RBIs)
The presumption is that Posada will be stronger over a full season without the rigors of catching. If he is not, there isn’t much of a Plan B. Andruw Jones will gets some at-bats, and Alex Rodriguez can fill in when he needs a rest from playing the field. A few years back, the Yankees rewarded Posada by giving him a four-year contract. It might have been one year too many.
Boston: David Ortiz (.270 / 32 / 102)
Just when it seems he has had it, the big numbers come back. And he’s playing for another contract.
Tampa Bay: Manny Ramirez (.298 / 9 / 42)
Is there anything left (no pun intended) in the potential Hall of Fame player? The Yankees would prefer he not be in their division.
Baltimore: Vladimir Guerrero (.300 / 29 / 115)
Everyone always counts him out (remember when the Mets had concerns about his back), but he’s still a feared hitter.
Toronto: Edwin Encarnacion (.244 / 21 / 51)
Nothing special.
