Yankees legend Yogi Berra spent Saturday night in the hospital after missing Old-Timers' Day following a fall outside his New Jersey home Friday.

Berra, 85, was taken to a Montclair, N.J., hospital Saturday night because of bleeding related to the fall. Berra, who takes a blood-thinning drug, underwent a procedure to stem the bleeding from cuts on his nose. He was released yesterday.

Berra still expects to attend next weekend's Hall of Fame ceremonies in Cooperstown.

"He's resting at home, doing better and fully intent on being in Cooperstown next weekend," said Dave Kaplan, director of the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center.

It's been a difficult stretch for the Yankees, with the death of longtime public address announcer Bob Sheppard on July 11 and the passing of owner George Steinbrenner two days later.
