Brandon Roy enters free agent rankings at No. 7

Brandon Roy, the former Trail Blazer who retired during the 2010-11 season at the suggestion of team doctors because of chronic knee problems, plans on returning to the NBA next season. And teams are reportedly already knocking at his door.
Roy averaged 19.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists over five NBA seasons.
Due to their using the amnesty clause, the Blazers are the only team inelligible to sign Roy. Teams can't re-sign amnestied players until after their scheduled contract runs out.
Roy enters Newsday's NBA free agent rankings in the No. 7 slot, sandwiched between Kevin Garnett and former teammate Nicolas Batum. Should he return to his 2008-09 form, though, teams could be looking at a top-four free agent.
