Bulls' Derrick Rose practices, says he'll play in Team USA exhibition game at Garden
Derrick Rose practiced Thursday and said he will play in the U.S. National Team's exhibition game against Puerto Rico Friday night at Madison Square Garden. The Bulls star guard missed two workouts and an exhibition game Wednesday with what he described as "soreness."
Rose missed almost all of the past two NBA seasons with knee injuries but has impressed U.S. teammates during preparations for the World Cup in Spain. "I have zero doubts. I saw the way he played in the scrimmage last week, the way he played in Chicago [Saturday]," said Stephen Curry, who was visited at practice in Manhattan Thursday by his Davidson coach Bob McKillop, a former Hofstra player who also coached at Long Island Lutheran.
