WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Hofstra 68, Drexel 67: Nicole Capurso hit a layup with two seconds left in overtime to lift Hofstra yesterday. Capurso hit a jumper with 37 seconds left to give Hofstra (16-11, 9-6 CAA) a 66-65 lead. Capurso had 21 points, including 7-for-11 from the field. Candice Bellocchio had eight points, nine assists, six rebounds and three steals in the win. Drexel (17-9, 11-4) had its 21-game conference home win streak end.

Drew 60, USMMA 48: Janay Weathers had 17 points and 16 rebounds for USMMA (10-15, 2-12 Landmark). Drew is 14-11, 5-9.

Suffolk CC-Selden 53, Delhi 43: Jasmine Dyson had 20 points and Jeanette Spillane 11 points and 10 rebounds for Suffolk CC-Selden (20-3). Delhi is 10-15. Suffolk CC-Selden will play Saturday in the Region XV semifinals.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

USMMA 75, Drew 62: Richard Roach had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Ryan Samuel 17 points for USMMA (21-4, 12-2 Landmark), which clinched the top seed in the conference tournament. USMMA will host No. 4 Susquehanna on Wednesday in the semifinals.

SOFTBALL

Hofstra 4, South Florida 1: Olivia Galati threw a three-hitter with five strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the first inning in the championship game of the LaQuinta Inn Tournament at South Florida for Hofstra, which is 5-0 for the first time since 1994. South Florida is 5-4.
