Andre Iguodala made the go-ahead free throws with 2.2 seconds left as the host Philadelphia 76ers rallied for a 79-78 win over the top-seeded Chicago Bulls in Game 6 Thursday night, advancing to the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs for the first time since 2003.

After Omar Asik missed two free throws for the Bulls, Iguodala grabbed the rebound, sprinted the length of the court and was fouled by Asik on the driving layup. He made both.

Philly is the fifth No. 8 seed to win a first-round series over a No. 1 seed. The 76ers will play the Celtics in the second round.

Celtics 83, Hawks 80: Kevin Garnett had 28 points and 14 rebounds as host Boston won the series in six games. Paul Pierce had 18 points, seven assists and five rebounds despite playing with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.

Nuggets 113, Lakers 96: Ty Lawson had 32 points and six assists for host Denver, which tied the series at 3-3. Kobe Bryant had 31 points for the Lakers, who fell behind 13-0 and trailed by as many as 28 points early in the fourth quarter.
