The NBA is coming to Long Island. At least the players are. As the league's lockout continues, with the sides engaged in a battle of antitrust litigation, a charity game involving a host of NBA players, possibly including All-Star Kevin Durant, has been scheduled for Dec. 2 at Nassau Coliseum.

The game, which will benefit the Sports Athletic Enterprise "Kidz Into Action" Foundation, is being organized by Isaac Daniel, president of the Lower Manhattan Classic Summer Pro-Am League.

Along with Durant, the game's promoters have listed Metta World Peace (formerly known as Ron Artest), former Knick Al Harrington, former UConn star Kemba Walker and Kyrie Irving, the first overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. It remains to be seen if Durant will be available for the game. According to reports, he is in negotiations with a team from Germany, BBC Bayreuth.

Other players on the list who said they will participate include Gary Forbes, Greg Monroe, Ryan Gomes, Jeff Green, Josh Selby, Sam Young and Jordan Williams.

Tickets, which range from $30 to $325 for a courtside seat, are available through TicketMaster and the Nassau Coliseum box office.

Obama Classic.Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire will participate in a star-studded event on Dec. 12 in Washington, D.C., to benefit President Barack Obama's "Victory Fund.'' Among others confirmed to play, according to the president's campaign website, are Durant, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and union president Derek Fisher. Also listed among the featured guests are Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, Dikembe Mutombo, Doc Rivers and Reggie and Cheryl Miller. It remains to be seen if Celtics coach Rivers and Magic assistant Ewing will be permitted by the league to interact with NBA players.
