The Knicks will sign forward Troy Williams to a 10-day contact, his agent Stephen Pina confirmed.

Williams, 23, was waived by the Rockets last week to open a roster spot to sign Joe Johnson.

The 6-foot-7 Williams averaged 1.3 points in four games with Houston this season. Williams appeared in 19 games for Rio Grande Valley Viper of the G-League and averaged 19.7 points and 6.1 rebounds.

The Knicks (23-36) likely will miss the playoffs for the fifth straight year. They’re looking for young, athletic players and Williams certainly fits that description.

Undrafted out of Indiana, Williams also played with the Memphis Grizzlies last season. Overall, he has played in 30 NBA games and has averages of 5.6 points and 2.1 rebound while shooting 42.6 percent from the field.

The Knicks had a roster spot available after waiving Johnny O’Bryant, who they acquired when they sent Willy Hernangomez to Charlotte. The Knicks return to practice Tuesday following the All-Star break. They have 23 games remaining.

The Athletic was the first to report the deal.
