Kristaps Porzingis was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for October and November after an impressive start to his NBA career.

Porzingis, the Knicks’ No. 4 pick, averaged 13.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.89 blocks in 18 games, and had eight double-doubles in that time.

The 7-foot-3 forward from Latvia had a 24-point, 14-rebound, seven-block game in a win over the Rockets on Nov. 21, becoming the first rookie to reach those totals since Tim Duncan in 1998.

Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns, the top overall pick, was the Western Conference Rookie of the Month. He averaged 14.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.18 blocks.
