MINNEAPOLIS - The Knicks won't see David Lee next Friday in Oakland, thanks to Wilson Chandler's tooth. The all-star power forward will be out for two weeks as a result of a laceration to his elbow when he came down on Chandler's mouth and knocked out a tooth in the third quarter of the Knicks' loss to the Warriors on Wednesday at the Garden.

Lee finished the game with his elbow bandaged, but blood soaked through.

"Adrenaline got me through," Lee told Bay Area reporters Thursday. "But in the last two minutes, I was really feeling it. It was pretty intense."

Chandler appeared to initially get the worst of the collision. He spit out the tooth and played the rest of the game looking like a hockey player. After the game, a team dentist tended to him and inserted a temporary cap to fill the space. Chandler will get a crown in the near future.

Lee woke up the next morning in Chicago feeling so much pain that he was taken to a nearby hospital and treated with antibiotics to prevent infection. His elbow is swollen, and he sat out Thursday's game against the Bulls.

Melo talks toast

Carmelo Anthony said the talk of himself and Chris Paul joining Amar'e Stoudemire with the Knicks - something Paul announced in a toast at Anthony's wedding in New York in July - was "just everybody having a good time laughing and joking."

In an interview with AOL Fanhouse, Anthony acknowledged the toast, which was first reported by Newsday. "The Miami Heat was the hot topic at that point," he told the website. "There were a lot of players , they were just laughing and joking about it. It is what it is. It wasn't set up. It wasn't staged."
