Kobe Bryant needed 24 points Monday night in Philadelphia to pass Shaquille O'Neal for fifth on the NBA's all-time scoring list.
It took him less than 19 minutes.
Bryant's 23-foot jumper from just inside the three-point arc in the second quarter gave him points No. 28,596 and 28,597 of his career, passing O'Neal for fifth all-time in the NBA.
Next up on the NBA list is Wilt Chamberlain, who finished his career with 31,419 points.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is No. 1 all-time with 38,387 points.
Bryant added four more points for 28 total, but it wasn't enough in a 95-90 loss to the 76ers. Los Angeles fell to 14-11 on the season, while Philly improved to 17-7.
