Big blow to Rockets' playoff chances
Kyle Lowry is back on a basketball court. But according to a report, he's far away from having any impact for the Rockets.
Out due to a bacterial infection since March 10, the Houston Chronicle reports that Lowry, who participated in Rockets practice Monday, may not see game action the rest of this season.
Jonathan Feigen reports that Lowry was very limited in practice, the use of his right arm restricted because of an antibiotics picc line.
Lowry's last game action came on March 7 against the Raptors. Houston lost, 116-98, their fifth straight loss at the time. Since then, though, without their starting point guard and arguably best player, the Rockets have managed to stay afloat, winning five of nine games.
Goran Dragic has been one of the main reasons. Since seeing an increase in his minutes when Lowry went down, Dragic has scored in double figures and dished at least seven assists in each of the nine games.
Houston is currently 26-23, in a three-way tie with the Jazz and Nuggets for seventh in the West.
The Rockets are also playing without Kevin Martin, who has a partial tear in his shoulder.
