Kyrie Irving may play for Australia in Olympics
CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers rookie guard Kyrie Irving hasn't ruled out playing for Australia this summer in the London Olympics.
Irving was born in Australia when his father, Drederick, played there professionally. However, if he were to play for the Aussies, Irving doesn't know if he would be allowed to play for the U.S. team in upcoming games.
The No. 1 overall pick in this year's NBA draft says his decision will be based mostly on word from "FIBA officials and Australian lawyers."
Irving said U.S. Olympic coach Mike Krzyzewski, his coach for one season at Duke, is aware that he's considering playing for Australia.
