Mario Chalmers says he's staying with the Miami Heat.

Chalmers said Friday morning that he is planning to stay with the Heat "until they don't want me" any more. He was a restricted free agent, meaning Miami would have had the chance to match any offer that he accepted from another club anyway.

Terms of Chalmers' deal were not immediately announced. The Heat cannot formally sign him or comment on the move until Friday afternoon under league rules.

Chalmers enters training camp as the presumed starter at point guard. He averaged 11.8 points in last season's NBA finals, which the Heat lost to the Dallas Mavericks in six games.

In his first three pro seasons with Miami, Chalmers has averaged 7.9 points and 3.7 assists on 41 percent shooting.
