Miami's Anthony joins rare NBA club
MIAMI (AP) - When it comes to Heat center Joel Anthony, the scoring line never tells the entire story.
He played 43 minutes against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. No points. No shot attempts of any kind. The Heat have a 400-page playbook, and it's doubtful that a single entry is designed for him.
Anthony got an $18 million, five-year deal from the Heat this summer because of his defensive and rebounding prowess, both of which were on display against the Hawks.
He grabbed 16 rebounds - making him the first NBA player since Dennis Rodman in 1994 to get that many without taking any shots.
