Your daily dose of Mikhail Prokhorov
. . . or at least his Twitter alter ego.
"Fake_Prokhorov," a Twitter account that satires the Nets' owner, has been on fire lately, tweeting (in broken English) about Wilt Chamberlain, the Russian election, and Deron Williams.
Today's post about Brook Lopez just may take the cake:
Please do not tell Magic of devastate new injury to Brooke Lopez. Is important for trade with Orlando superstar.
— Mikhail Prokhorov (@Fake_Prokhorov) March 5, 2012
Lopez, who sprained his ankle in Sunday's win against Charlotte, is in a walking boot and expected to be out three weeks. That time frame includes the trade deadline; the Nets figure to be players in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes at the deadline, and Lopez would be one of the major players in the deal. So you can understand @Fake_Prokhorov's anguish.
It's not Friday, but the faux Prokhorov Twitter account is one of the fake basketball Twitter accounts worth following. Others include the verbose @NotBillWalton and the absurdly cocky @LeBronJamesEgo.
