Portland's big day, and a 2012 deadline roundup

It was a busy day for the Portland Trail Blazers, the team making a pair of deals and a change at head coach.

In the midst of a major slump that was topped off by a 42-point loss to the struggling Knicks on Wednesday night, the Blazers unloaded a pair of starters in deals that netted the team expiring contracts and draft picks.

First, Portland sent Gerald Wallace, who has a player option for the 2012-13 season, to the New Jersey Nets for Mehmet Okur, Shawne Williams and a 2012 first round pick that is top-three protected.

Next, the Blazers dealt starting center Marcus Camby to the Rockets for Hasheem Thabeet, Johnny Flynn and a 2012 second round pick.

And finally, the team fired coach Nate McMillan. The Blazers went 266-269 under McMillan, never winning a playoff series.

MEMPHIS-PHILADELPHIA: The Memphis Grizzlies trade Sam Young to the Philadelphia 76ers for Ricky Sanchez.

TORONTO-INDIANA: The Toronto Raptors trade Leandro Barbosa to the Indiana Pacers for a second round pick.

LAKERS-CAVALIERS: The Los Angeles Lakers trade Luke Walton, Jason Kapono and a 2012 first round draft pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Ramon Sessions and Christian Eyenga.

WARRIORS-SPURS: According to reports, the Golden State Warriors trade Stephen Jackson to the San Antonio Spurs for Richard Jefferson and a conditional first round draft pick.

HOUSTON-LAKERS: According to reports, the Houston Rockets trade Jordan Hill to the Los Angeles Lakers for Derek Fisher and a first round draft pick.

WASHINGTON-CLIPPERS-DENVER: According to reports, in a three-team trade, the Washington Wizards acquire Brian Cook, Nene and a Clippers' second round draft pick, the Los Angeles Clippers acquire Nick Young, and the Denver Nuggets acquire JaVale McGee and Ronny Turiaf.
