The Midsummer Classic is less than a week away, but the hype has already begun for the next big All-Star event: the 2015 NBA All-Star Game.
On Thursday, the NBA unveiled its logo for the weekend's events, which will be hosted by New York, split between Madison Square Garden and the Barclays Center.
The slam dunk contest and skills events will be in Brooklyn on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015 while the All-Star Game itself will be at the Garden on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015.
In the NBA's announcement of the event, former commissioner David Stern and current commissioner Adam Silver stressed that they wanted to involve all five boroughs. The NBA said in a tweet from its All-Star Game handle (@NBAAllStar) that featured the logo: "Connectivity of Five Boroughs Highlighted in 2015 #NBAAllStar Logo!" The logo also features the Knicks' and Nets' team colors.
This is New York's fifth time as host of the NBA All-Star Game. The city previously hosted the game at Madison Square Garden in 1954, 1955, 1968 and 1998.
