Andre Ward (right) vs. Mikkel Kessler

Saturday night's Super Six World Boxing Classic matchup between WBA super middleweight champ Andre Ward and Allan Green was supposed to be a defining statement for someone.

Ward (22-0, 13 KOs) was the one who made that statement as he blanked Green for a unanimous-decision win over Green (29-2, 20 KOs).

It was easy pickings for Ward, who worked inside with great efficiency and had Green on the defensive and on the ropes for a large portion of the fight. All three judges scored the bout 120-108.

Ward didn't appear to be impressed with Green. "I did expect a little tougher fight," Ward said.

Ward earned a spot in the Super Six semifinal with the victory.

Green, despite the loss, could stil earn a spot in the semifinal if he can manage a win over WBC champ Mikkel Kessler in Group Stage 3.

"Andre Ward fought a hell of a fight," Green said. "I weighed in at 166. By time I got to the ring I felt dead."
