Broadway Boxing for Sandy victims
There’s more to life than boxing, according to fight promoter Lou DiBella.
The proceeds from DiBella’s latest installment of “Broadway Boxing”, which is being held as a benefit for Superstorm Sandy victims, will be donated to the American Red Cross. The card, set for December 19 at the Roseland Ballroom, will feature Will Rosinsky (16-2, 9 KOs) against Otis Griffin (24-10-2, 10 KOs) in a 10-round heavyweight bout.
In other co-feature bouts, Ivan Redkach (12-0, 11 KOs) vs. Edward Valdez (11-8-2) in an eight-round lightweight match and Gabriel Bracero (20-1, 3 KOs) will fight Johnnie Edwards (15-5-1, 8 KOs) in an eight-round junior welterweight bout. Newest DiBella acquisition, welterweight Ionut Dan Ion (29-2, 16 KOs), will also fight on the card. His opponent will be announced at a later date.
Highlighting the undercard will be Travis Peterkin (5-0, 3 KOs), who will face Eddie Tigs (1-4-2) in a four-round light heavyweight bout, and Zachary Ochoa (3-0, 3 KOs) will square off against Ian James (2-4-1, 1 KO) in a four-round junior welterweight contest.
Brooklyn heavyweight Jarrell Miller (3-0, 3 KOs) and fellow borough resident Mikkel Lespierre (1-0, 1 KO), a welterweight, will also be on the card. Junior lightweight contender Allan Benitez (7-1, 1KO) will also fight on the undercard.
A silent auction will be held throughout the event with DiBella donating items from his own extensive personal collection.
