Daniel Jacobs cruises to 20-0
Promising Brooklyn middleweight Daniel Jacobs made short work of Juan Astorga.
To the delight of the local fans, Jacobs stopped Astorga (14-5-1, 9 KOs) 51 seconds into the second roun dof a scheduled 10-round bout. Jacobs (20-0, 17 KOs) dropped Astorga twice in the first round and finished him up with two knockdowns in the second. Easy.
So what's next for Jacobs. He has the power and speed to be a very good middleweight. But as is the case with all young fighters, he is likely to be handled with kid gloves over the next year or so before he steps up to the big time.
