FDNY boxers to battle London PD

Members of FDNY march on Fifth Avenue during the 252nd annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City. The parade honors the patron saint of Ireland and was held for the first time in New York on March 17, 1762, 14 years before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Here's the press release for a cool event:
The FDNY Bravest Boxing team will take on the London Metro Police Department Boxing team in a rematch of last year’s Transatlantic Championship on Friday April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Resorts World Casino in Queens, New York. The night will include 10 three-round bouts with FDNY members squaring off against members of the London Metro Police Department
The FDNY Bravest Boxing team is a registered non-profit organization which competes in several amateur boxing matches each year. The FDNY Bravest Boxing Team has donated over $200,000 to charities over the last several years, most recently donating $5,000 to Building Homes for Heroes, a group which helps severely wounded veterans and their families rebuild their lives
The Bravest Boxing team consists of FDNY members who train for their grueling matches on their own time and live by the motto that they’ll fight “anyone, anywhere, anytime, as long as it’s for a good cause!”
Resorts World Casino has generously donated the venue for this event to support the mission of the Bravest Boxing Team.
Tickets are available at www.eventbrite.com or through the Resorts World box office.
Resorts World Casino – 110-00 Rockaway Blvd, Queens, NY Friday, April 12, 2012 – Doors open at 7 p.m. – First fight at 8 p.m.
