Long Beach light heavyweight Seanie Monaghan scored a third-round TKO against Daniel Regi in Las Vegas on Saturday night and immediately called out Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. for his next bout.

"On Monday, I plan to call Top Rank and ask to fight Chavez Jr.," said Monaghan, who is 33. "I will punish him the same way - even more - than I did against Regi tonight."

Monaghan, 33, scored three third-round knockdowns en route to the TKO of Regi, retaining his WBC Continental Americas title at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. The fight was on the undercard of the Timothy Bradley-Diego Chaves fight.

Monaghan is 23-0 with 15 knockouts. Chavez Jr. is 48-1-1 with 32 knockouts. Both fighters are under contract with Bob Arum's Top Rank promotional company.
