Pacquiao-Clottey does 700,000 PPV buys
HBO Sports reports that the March 13, 2010 Manny Pacquiao-Joshua Clottey fight in Dallas generated 700,000 pay-per-view buys and did $35.3 million in revenue.
"The pay-per-view performance of Pacquiao-Clottey significantly exceeded our expectations," said HBO's Mark Taffet. "It is a testament to the popularity of Pacquiao and the vitality of the sport, and it gives us great encouragement as we look toward the May 1 Mayweather-Mosley pay-per-view fight."
It's worth noting that huge chunks of Long Island were without power the night of the fight, including this corner.
