Report: Floyd Mayweather Jr. arrested
Numerous media outlets are reporting that Floyd Mayweather Jr. was arrested last night in Las Vegas. The reports say that the arrest stems from a battery charge alleging that Mayweather poked a 21-year-old security guard in the face during a Nov. 15 argument over parking tickets.
As Mayweather's legal troubles mount, a potential fight against Manny Pacquiao seems further and further away.
Here is the latest Associated Press report of the arrest:
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A lawyer for Floyd Mayweather Jr. says the boxer is to be released from a Las Vegas jail following his arrest on a misdemeanor warrant alleging he poked a security guard in the face last month outside his home.
Attorney Richard Wright told The Associated Press on Friday the 33-year-old Mayweather was being processed for release without bail from the Clark County jail pending a Tuesday court date.
Police Officer Jacinto Rivera said Friday that Mayweather was arrested late Thursday at a Las Vegas-area casino.
The warrant stems from a battery charge alleging Mayweather poked a 21-year-old security guard in the face during a Nov. 15 argument over parking tickets.
Mayweather had been free on bail on unrelated felony charges stemming from a September dispute with his children and their mother.
