Report: Showtime closes deal for Bantamweight tournament

Already basking in the glow of its Super Six World Boxing Classic, Showtime reportedly put the finishing touches on a Bantamweight tournament.

Promoter Gary Shaw told ESPN.com that Vic Darchinyan, Yonnhy Perez, Joseph Agbeko and Abner Mares will be part of a single-elimination Bantamweight tourney.

Unlike Showtime's World Boxing Classic, which featured six of the world's top super middleweights, the Bantamweight tournament will feature just four fighters -Darchinyan, Perez, Agbeko and Mares.

Both semifinals will take place on December 11 in Leon, Mexico. Darchinyan (35-2-1, 27 KOs) will face Mares (20-0-1, 13 KOs) in the main event. Perez (20-0-1, 14 KOs) will take on Agbeko (27-2, 22 KOs) in the co-feature.
