LONDON — WBC middleweight champion Saul Alvarez will defend his title against British boxer Amir Khan, who is jumping two weight divisions for the fight in Las Vegas on May 7.
Golden Boy Boxing announced the fight on Tuesday. It will be at a catchweight of 155 pounds.
Alvarez beat Miguel Cotto in a unanimous points decision in November. The 25-year-old Mexican has lost once in 48 fights, to Floyd Mayweather in 2013.
Khan, a former world light-welterweight champion, hasn’t fought since beating Chris Algieri on points in May.
