Heavy sluggers at Yankee Stadium
Muhammad Ali won a unanimous 15-round decision over Ken Norton at Yankee Stadium to retain his world heavyweight title. The two had split a pair of 12-round decisions in California in 1973. It was Ali's eighth successive defense of his unified WBA and WBC heavyweight titles. He ended his career in 1981 with a 56-5 record, 37 of the victories by knockout. Norton's career also ended in 1981 with a 42-7-1 record with 33 wins by knockout.
