Anderwkavich throws for 566, 5 TDs in C.W. Post loss

Eric Anderwkavich was 38-for-55 for 566 yards and five touchdowns and ran for 85 yards in a losing effort as Keith Hadnagy's 30-yard field goal went wide left as time expired as C.W. Post fell to Kutztown, 50-48, Saturday in PSAC football.

Anderwkavich threw a 24-yard TD to Grayson Laurino with 13:43 remaining to bring the Pioneers (5-3, 4-1) within 47-34. A 6-yard TD to Darnel Williams with 8:27 left cut the lead to 50-42, and Anderwkavich hit Joe Botti for a 71-yard score with 5:47 remaining, but a potential game-tying two-point conversion pass fell incomplete. Botti had 10 catches for 227 yards and two TDs and Williams had 11 catches for 131 yards and two scores.

Hobart 40, USMMA 33:Derrick Ventre threw for 150 yards and a TD for USMMA (2-2) in Liberty League play. John Gosselin ran for 110 yards and a TD for USMMA.

VOLLEYBALL

Nassau CC sweeps.Kate Berbenich had 28 assists, seven digs, four aces and two kills as Nassau CC (18-0) beat Westchester, 25-10, 25-9, 25-10, in a Region XV volleyball doubleheader. In the first match, Angelina Zaharias had 14 digs and three aces for Nassau in a 25-13, 25-6, 25-6 win over Dutchess CC.
