Army and the Yankees announced on Tuesday that the Army-Air Force game scheduled for Nov. 3, 2012 at Yankee Stadium will be moved to West Point’s Michie Stadium.

The statement released by Army said the date is a potential conflict with Major League Baseball’s postseason schedule.

"This change to our 2012 schedule will provide our fan base with a tremendous slate of games at Michie Stadium next year," Army Director of Athletics Boo Corrigan said in a statement. "With the strong possibility of a conflict with the Yankees' postseason schedule, we felt it was in everyone's best interests to return the game to West Point at this time. While we are excited about our continuing series at Yankee Stadium, our fans look forward to welcoming Air Force to Michie Stadium every other year. We are excited about working with our friends at the Yankees to host our game against Rutgers there next month and about continuing our series of games there in 2014."

Army is scheduled to play Rutgers this season at Yankee Stadium on Nov. 12.

The move will give Army six games at Michie Stadium next season, including a game on Sept. 29 against Stony Brook.
